Working memory can be defined as
“the ability we have to hold and manipulate information in the mind over short periods of time.”

Poor working memory is the source of many problems related to attention and exists alongside many other conditions:
attention deficit and hyperactivity disorder, autistic spectrum disorder, dyspraxia, dyslexia, dyscalculia, epilepsy, brain damage, foetal alcohol syndrome, prematurity, attachment disorders.
